As we recently wrote, the 30th conference of the European Cetacean Society (ECS) was held in Madeira (Portugal) last month. The ECS was established in 1987 and aims to promote and advance the scientific studies and conservation efforts of marine mammals and to gather and disseminate information about cetaceans to members of the Society and the public at large. Four years ago, Tilen Genov from Morigenos was elected a member of the ECS Council, and appointed Vice-Chair last year. At this year’ conference, Tilen completed his 4-year mandate and passed his roles onto newly elected Council members, while still continuing his function of the ECS National Contact Person for Slovenia. At the closing ceremony, the Council thanked Tilen for his voluntary work over the past four years. The Morigenos team is proud to have its members co-shaping the European and international scene of marine mammal research and conservation.
